Salute to Hitchcock - B&W or Color?
Posted By: Sailor, 09-02-2009, 08:00 PM

Here are a couple of shots from this afternoon. I rather like the B&W versions, but before I throw away the color ones . . . . . what do y'all think?

Amazing seasideness, Jer. Wish I had gotten to see more of this when I was last in Corpus. Just the slightest tinge of sepia-tone would definitely help on the first one. Second is better in colour. How'd you get these?
Thanks, Matthew. I appreciate the suggestions. As to your question, I shot these from our sailboat.

very nice - I like the first one, and just like someone above said, I like B&W but the color one feels better imho.

Usually I like b&w for these things Jer, but here the color works best. Nice captures.

I am going to be decisive here and say... I like both versions of both photos!

The color versions have energy and hopefullness. The B&W versions are gritty and depict the toil better.

My feeling is that each is appropriate depending on the message you are trying to convey with the photo.
