Seeing Ash's 'Abstract light art' thread - https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/71303-abstract-light-art.html prompted me to try a variation in landscape form.

The first and third shots are the normal versions of the landscape.

Thanks for your comment JMR. I get what you're saying and I actually toyed with doing exactly what you are saying regarding the sky but in the end I decided I preferred the 50/50 split.
As for leaving an identifiable element, this was just an experiment. I was happy with the results and I think if I were to display them, I would do so as I have done here, with a normal image.
I'm definitely going to bear your suggestion in mind if/when I try this again.
