After seeing some recent posts of beach volleyball tournament images, I decided to pay a visit yesterday to the first round of the AVP Crocs Tournament in Mason, Ohio.
Armed only with my K20D and trusty DA55-300, I set out to see what all the fuss is about. My conclusion... it is, in fact, much like a day at the beach. Lots of sand, tanned bodies, beach attire, music, sun... and beer. All that was missing was the sound of waves crashing on the shoreline
Conclusions...
- Great way to spend a day
- Really tested the capabilities of the K20D & 55-300... not the perfect sports combination, but certainly up to the challenge. I had a very low percentage of OOF shots... those that I missed were due more to my issues with timing. Positioning and timing are key. As the day went on, it was easier to anticipate when the photo opp's might occur.
