Rocky Mountain Way - 10 pics (Beware)

Here are a few of my favorites from a recent trip. Taken with the K20D, K10D and istD, various lenses, man I could spend months out there.

I have never been in and around that area. looks to be a great place to visit.

Dave, speaking about music. don't forget some for the road trip biud. I will get my daughter to make a couple up too. Cheers. JIM

Very nice. I just got back recently from the Canadian Rockies and Glacier NP as well.

Where we these taken?

Deal and since you have never been white water rafting we will include that as well. I am in Pick a weekend in June / July 2010 and we will make it so

John I love this area - been going there for about 10 years one a year and it still ain't enough.

No worries I will bring my ipod , portable Ihome and a car radio adapter for the ipod- I am a big musice fan as well can't live without it. If you have an ipod load it up, I will have my computer as well with many gigs of tunes.

ha ha thanks Grant - it is Utah do they sell beer ? Yeah we don't have an ocean anywhere near but we do have really big hills

Thanks Jer haha I may 'look' professional but the camera is still way smarter than I am thank gawd

#1 - I forget really I think somehere between Lake Louise and Field
#2 & #3 were taken in Golden BC
#4 was taken about 60km east of Golden down on the banks of the kicking horse river
#5 to #8 these were taken on top of the Kicking Horse Resort ski hill just outside of Golden.
#9-#10 - These were taken at Spiral Mountain not too far from Field BC a roadside stop on the highyway.

Hi Dave, that are indeed very fine photos of a super area I could spend weeks there. In 10 days or so, it depends on how the season progresses I'll go up the Icefields Parkway for a couple of days.

Thanks Heinrich - evey time I pass highway 93 I want to trun right to head up there ! Hope the weather cooperates and looking forward to you shots from tehre.

Thansk Jeff that is one of my favorites as well. Unfortunatley the haze in the air was comming from all the forest fires in the interior , but it helped in this shot.

Thansk Kerrowdown - you would be surprised. Most of these were taken from a Gondola ride , or driving off the main highway on some of the dirt roads.

Agreed about the color and tonal changes on the mountain slope profile shots. Nice layering effect due to the atmospheric conditions!
