We went to the San Diego Zoo last Sunday night with some friends. While my friend lugged around his Canon with big lenses, I decided it was way too hot for that and opted to travel light, with nothing but a K2000 and a DA 40 Pancake lens. I figured I would just have to adjust my subject matter to match the lack of a long lens. Here are few shots, and some more with the camera/lens combo can be found here:

Who can resist a designated "photo opportunity"?
There is a lot more to see than just animals at the San Diego Zoo.
Part of a new exhibit. This thing was really low to the ground, I could not actually look through the viewfinder, just held the camera down low to the ground.
I took the next one just so that I could see how it would hold up to cropping.
