Portrait of a Friend (Tak 150mm f/4)
Posted By: SCguy, 09-05-2009, 03:58 PM

Took this picture of my friend after I took family portraits of his family, sad story, his dad has advanced cancer, and wanted family pictures before he started chemo and lost his hair.

Anyways, he is really into bows and archery. My main reason for posting is to show the good image quality of my Takumar 150mm f/4.

And here is a (not 100% crop, close to 1:1 view anyways), no PP sharpening at all, and this was wide open.

I got the lens along with a Takumar 55mm f/2 and a Takumar 35mm f/3.5 from a guy on Craigslist for $20.

What a sharp Tak.
Well done for picking it up.
You've shown off this little beauty well.

Being in the Archery Business, Nice Shot

I'm in the archery industry and admire guys that shoot traditional equipment.

Most of the time I shot traditional, but most of our business comes from compound. The only recurve products we sell are to the huge teams and folks the shoot FITA here in the USA and abroad.

Nice photo, really good image quality.

Kudos for doing something for a friend, that will undoubtedly mean more and more as time passes to the entire family. Sometimes the photos we take can mean a whole lot more to us or others than just a bunch of pixels on a screen or detail on a negative or print.
