some of Alberta and B.C.
Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 05-20-2007, 03:21 PM

A few days ago we returned from a road trip through some of Alberta and Britisch Columbia. I have started to process the images and here are the first ones. I'll post them as I get them done.

We headed west into the Rockies and our first stop was Lake Louise. The lake was still under ice.

On the other side there were the first signs of spring

with the creek running wide open

We did not linger and headed north on highway 93 (Icefields Parkway)

We stayed overnight at The Crossing and continued the next morning to the Columbia Icefields

To be continued.......

They're all beautiful Heinrich.
#2 is my favorite, because of the water.

I'm hoping on heading to Canmore and then down to Waterton during the beginning of July. If it all works out I'll hopefully get some as nice as yours.

Hi Stu and thank you. If you do get to Waterton don't miss the Red Rock Canyon.

Take care, Heinrich

These shot are really fantastic Heinrich. And as per usual up to your great quality. I have no favorites since I think they are all great shots. I'm glad you had a good trip and one day I hope to get back up to Canada. It's been about 5 years since I stopped Driving over the road, and I do miss seeing all the sights I took for granted. I'm ashamed to admit In all the years I drove truck I never had a chance to (or never thought to take the camera with me) I would really love to be able to return to most of my trips and get the shots of the things I saw on the way. (hind sight is 20-20 and regretful). Thanks for the memories my friend.

Thank you David for the kind words. Way back when (late fifties~early sixties) I drove all over Eastern Canada and the eastern seaboard in USA. Did I take pictures? Yeah, the odd one here and there. Always way too much in a hurry to stop, so now the "hurry" is gone and we drive strictly for the sights. This fall we will once more drive across Canada and Eastern USA. Might even take a few pictures, LOL.

Take care, Heinrich

Absolutely stunning as usual Heinrich, beautiful area and excellent exposures. As usual your photos make me want to say "The heck with it" and just go...

Thank you dear Sir for the kind words, they are appreciated. Don't let a few years get in the way, there is never a better time than right now. Just do it, look at us I bet you I have a number of years on you. LOL,
