Osprey in flight

I have tried to get bird in flight shots before, and every time I have failed pretty badly

Today I had the 55-300mm on and an Osprey (I think that's what it is) deciding to do some hunting nearby.

These shots aren't perfect - but I like how you can see the spread of the wings and feather detail ok. All are cropped a bit...

Please let me know what you think...

Thanks guys.
I think I was a bit lucky with the Osprey - It's a big bird and was flying quite slowly.
Also, probably a bit hard to tell after PP sharpening and uploading to web, but the BIF shots could be a little bit sharper... But I think I would need a tripod or monopod for that!
