A few of my buddies and I went on a random trip to DC over labor day, and I figured I'd try out my new Sigma 150-500 on K10D. All of these are handheld, most at 500mm. Didn't have a tripod/monopod that would hold them and nothing to put a gorillapod on. There were about 300 other pix that I had but the memory card randomly died after a picture, so I was kind of bummer about that. Luckily the stuff in DC doesn't change very often. Feel free to make any comments and criticize.
Funky looking bird, shot thru fence.
Cool lookin elephant shot
Random flowers
Wish I hadn't stopped down so much for this one, but I'm still really new to the SLR thing and DOF isn't natural yet.
Wish I had stopped down a couple of clicks. DOF WAY too thin at wide open for a duck...
Still bummed about the lack of tripod because this would have came out properly. That was wide-open handheld at 500mm from a ways away at night. We were at a concert behind the cap building and I wanted to see how it did at night
