This I like! Nice "dreamy day" quality about it. Well done!

I think the b&w conversion is well done, and I like how the shallow DOF emphasizes her face & expression.

However, I find the composition too "neutral", too centered. I would crop a good-size chunk on the left, to make the black blob in the lower part disappear. Naturally, you'd need to crop a bit at the top and/or bottom to maintain the aspect ratio, so that could be a problem.

Ah this is a better comparsion mate,has the 50's look(Not the Bride)classic film feel

I think this is a lovely image.. its not complicated, it is just beautyfull.

I like to keep the normal printable format 12x8, as this will be printed. This is basically shot with a very small crop (to try and do exactly what you where suggesting)

Nice portrait. But color converted images are called gray scale. BW is film.

Simple and elegant. And it looks like it is unsharpened (?) judging from the bokeh.
