Close-up w/ DA 15 Limited...
Posted By: Michaelina2, 09-17-2009, 03:57 AM

... paired to a K-7. The subject is about one foot distant from the lens. Various little PP tweaks using LR 2.5 and the image cropped to compose.

P Mode 1/250s F/7.1 iso250 -1.3EV

Cheers...

????

I did not know that lens did close-ups... Very nice!

What is the minimum focus distance with that baby?

Looks like it can focus to 18cm... almost equal to the DA 10-17!

Nice shot

18cm? That's like half the distance of your standard 35-70mm primes. Good fact to know!

Hi Alll...

Thanks for the comments.

My reason for posting was to highlight the low distortion from a close focus crop using a lens this wide.

I found it pretty amazing and thought you might, as well.

Cheers...

Definitely hard to pick any distortion here.
Looks like a real winner.
Who would've thought this could be taken by a WA lens?

I've never tried closeups with my DA 15, but your great image makes me want to give it a try.

Nice shot. I would not have thought about using the DA 15 for close ups. Well done.

Thanks for putting it back up, Michael.

Nice shot! I was very interested in seeing just such an image from the 15mm limited. My DA14 is great but can be a little big, so I've been looking at the 15mm.

Cheers!

Yeah, most ultra-wides, especially primes, have a relatively small minimum focus distance; my 14mm has a minimum focus distance of 17cm.
