Cornsnake on a porcelain rose

Neat shot; how'd you get the snake to curl up so comfortably in the petals?

A touch under-exposed, but nice colors.

Thanks! I agree it's a tad underexposed. I am still learning to use external flash, PLUS trying to pose a snake... She was a bit nervous, so she just curled up like that for security. I have been practicing taking snake photos for a while now and once I get the exposure right, I'll have some winners!

My oldest daughter want to get one of these, but they are supposed to hybernate in the winter, right? And I don't think we have a place with good constant temperature (no cellar). Is this one very small, or is the rose very big?

It is very small. Also, there is no hibernation needed. Download a good care sheet and check it out. They are quite easy to take care of. Check out cornsnakes.com for more info.

very nice, what a great "prop" to spice up flower shots with dont remember seeing that before

Thanks! I have kind of made a hobby of just trying to capture decent pics of these little critters! It's rewarding to get one like this even if the exposure isn't quite perfect.
