Im really liking the 2nd and 3rd ones. The foreground in the second is just really interesting to look at and the colours in the last one are superb.

Thanks! I'm not actually 'in' Chicago, but in a suburb of southwest of the city about 25 miles away. There are plenty of forest preserves in the area where I live. Some of my shots are within literally 10 feet of a major road, and some take a little hiking to get that extra surprise, but none are far from any where easily accessible. That's one of my goals taking photos that most people just pass up because it's to 'Urban' of an area to find anything good to shoot.

Feel free to look at my work on Deviant Art (Sorry but all shot with Canon XTi but going to add the K10D there soon) - http://star-fire.deviantart.com/gallery/

Just the Kit lens, some photos it looks great, but sometimes it looks quite bad *Shrug*

Thanks for looking at my other photos, the sci-fi stuff is my creative side as I'm a graphic designer who works at a printer. I haven't done much in a while, photography is taking over!

2nd one is definitely my favorite of the bunch - what's the light edge along the underside of the rocks there, or is it just that it's dried out and not dark and wet like below?

I'm not sure, in color it's much lighter then the rest of the rock, it's almost like a cream colored band, I'm sure it has something to do with the water line and the algae though.

Thanks for all the comments, I find it interesting that some love the first, some the second and some the third, it just goes to show how much our likes differ!

I like the 2nd and 3rd shots. The b & W (2nd or 3rd, can't remember the order) has a geologically interesting waterline. Looks like multiple strata laid down thru the years. Kind of makes you think what made the different colors.. Thanks for the show. Freddy
