I like the whole series.
Did you use a fill flash on the first, if not how did you meter it with the sun in the middle and web still exposed?

Thanks.

I did not use fill flash on the first; I think I metered the sky between the two top buds. Then I just got low enough so the damp web was contrasted against the trees in the background.

I hope that makes sense.

Bryan Peterson standing behind you making sure you metered on brother blue sky? Sorry, I just finished rereading one of his books on exposure and am still trying to get his naming conventions out of my head. By coincidence I was on a page where he also shot a web against dark trees with the sun just over the top. I definitely like yours better. (p. 112 of Understanding Exposure, revised edition).
