Had some time to kill tonight after the kids were asleep, had some fun playing with the dept of field on the sound system.....

kinda happy with the results

Agree Ash. Quickly found myself cataloging the Marantz audio components and forgetting about the pic.

I reckon you should reshoot the 2nd photo. You missed focus or have some motion blur..

Thanks.........but that was'nt the reaction I hoped

I was only playing with the depht of field to have the foreground in focus and the further it is, the more out of focus it gets.

I agree for the 2nd picture, I'll try again with a bigger apperture to get more focus with distance.

For your information, the system is around 10 years old......I started to purchase the parts, one by one over time.....and it followed me ever since. Even today, I would'nt trade it for something more recent.

The AV receiver is a Marantz SR-96 twined with a Marantz DP-870 digital processor. The AV is only used as a preamp since I drive the speakers (Defenitive technologies.....on the 2nd picture) with a single case 5 x 150W Marantz THX power amp
