Posted By: daacon, 09-22-2009, 03:38 PM

Take a 10 second exposure - the crew was yelling at me to get out of the middle of the road but I figured I had enough time and volia here are the results. I had at least 5 seconds to spare before the car came whizzing by

Very cool idea Dave and perfectly executed. Love the shot.
Glad you didn't have to report both cameras as dead due to mishaps.

Dave - this is a terrific image; clever and thought provoking. And . . . . . you managed to get it without winning a Darwin award.

Seriously, a really cool shot.

Indeed haha as I get older and tales get taller that'll be an alien spaceship without a doubt.

Great shot Dave! Now I see why I missed out: every time a car was coming, I moved off...
Everyone: Dave looked very calm the entire time the others were calling/yelling to him to clear off the road...
Thanks Marc I remember saying it like we were kids playing street hockey and saying car where we had to move the nets and get out of the way. I was calm as the reality was there was time

Nice shot Dave
I remember driving on the roads out west and how hard it is to judge how close they are. I really liked montana's no daytime speed limit. and people you passed would wave as if they knew you (that was 25 yrs. ago though)

Thanks Tom - I forget what the speed limit was but on I50 I think it was 80mph not unlimited. There are certainly some wide open country in Utah where one could push the limits. My rental 4x4 started to shake rattle and roll at 80 that may have been due to some of the caked on mud underneath (anotehr story) ....

Montana used to have "Reasonable and Prudent" as the daytime speed limit on the Interstates (until the feds blackmailed them into setting one ). It certainly made a couple of Omaha to Seattle road trips go a bit quicker when you could set the cruise at 95 and just go... Now it's 75 if I recall correctly. Bah humbug!
