Abstract is one thing, but I think these are a little too OOF to really go that route. Maybe bring in the focus some to give a little detail so it looks more intentional instead that you accidentally hit the shutter with AF off.

that wouldn't be 'abstract' then. they're completely OOF to blend the colors as if it was a painting.

taken from m-w.com...

Main Entry: 1ab·stract
Pronunciation: \ab-ˈstrakt, ˈab-ˌ\
Function: adjective
Etymology: Medieval Latin abstractus, from Latin, past participle of abstrahere to drag away, from abs-, ab- + trahere to pull, draw
Date: 14th century

1 a : disassociated from any specific instance <an abstract entity> b : difficult to understand : abstruse
c : insufficiently factual : formal <possessed only an abstract right>
2 : expressing a quality apart from an object <the word poem is concrete, poetry is abstract>
3 a : dealing with a subject in its abstract aspects : theoretical
b : impersonal, detached <the abstract compassion of a surgeon — Time>
4 : having only intrinsic form with little or no attempt at pictorial representation or narrative content

— ab·stract·ly \ab-ˈstrak(t)-lē, ˈab-ˌ\ adverb

— ab·stract·ness \ab-ˈstrak(t)-nəs, ˈab-ˌ\ noun

Call it what you will. If you like it that's what truly maters. I'm kind of leaning with the others on these.

Thanks for posting.

shrug. by definition this is total abstraction; there's no geometry, form, etc.

you don't always need a 'subject' for a picture

i'm thinking of putting the first one on canvas and 'remixing' the second into a comp.

They are quite interesting. I find people either like or dislike this type of image, or art if you like. However, I think the power of such images, if any, is in their emotional impact or influence on people. I have always said if cannot relate to any image or work of art in some way, then we will just ignore what we see and tend to dismiss it, just as we do with the everyday mundane things that we see.

Nice work, I'm actually someone who is open to this kind of work. I don't feel a subject is needed to get a point across, or to enjoy a photo.

Here are two I've done like this:
