Fisheye Canyon Shot - Capitol Reef
Posted By: daacon, 09-26-2009, 06:45 AM

Some of you are not a fan of the fisheye I know, but it's not just for distortion shorts (althought those are fun as well) - watch your lines , keep it level and you have a very W I D E FOV

I agree. I seen you standing over there but I was looking at this shot next and that was the problem. Everywhere you turned there was another great shot no mattewr where you were. JIM

Well done Dave.
You really have to look hard to find much distortion in this capture.
Well disguised.

I wouldnt have known that was with a fisheye if you hadnt written it in the post, as you say, use it the right way and it works great. the 10-17 is also a very nice quality lens in general, I have one myself. ven has a metal lens cap, very classy as adamkean said the blue sky is great in the shot, I am a sucker for deep blue sky

Thanks Ash indeed as mentioned if you watch the lines (no trees , polls, buildings, etc on the edges) and keep the horizontal straight you can get some wide shots.

I have a problem with shot, I can't believe you posted it proudly. Marc is going to be so dissapointed. Don't get me wrong it's a great shot and Ash is right it's hard to find any distortion. The lens, camera and photographer did great, except for one small detail. It wasn't f 7.1, what's up with that. you knew the rules.

Sounds like the teachers pet to me! I purposely shot at F9 just to show that Marc guy! what does he know. Sure he got all the good spots to shoot and in some cases pushed his way into ours. Sure he composed shots better then us. Sure he made us sound better then we are. How darn him again! Shocking I know but the truth usually is! Signed JIMBO the Friendly Canadian Guy.
