Longhorn -75mm 645 Pentax on K20D
Posted By: Rupert, 09-26-2009, 08:49 PM

Curious if anyone else is using the 645 lenses on the K20D or other Digital bodies? I have purchased several of these fine lenses and find them excellent, although a little difficult to use since they are full manual on the K20D. I have the Pentax adapter, a well made device, but a little pricey. Currently, my two favorites are the 75mm F2.8 and the 45-85 F4.5 followed closely by the F4 120mm Macro. Any experience anyone has using any 645 lenses on your K20D or similar body would be appreciated.
I shot this Longhorn using the 75mm + the Tamron 1.4 TC on the K20D and thought it held up fairly well. I have not had a lot of good luck on many lenses with the Tammy TC, but it works pretty good on this lens.
Regards!
Rupert

Nice shot indeed Bob...I love shooting Longhorns! I've been through Dripping Springs many times...nice area for Longhorns.
Can you imagine the length of these horns if they were straight?

Sailor, Frogfish, Sparkles.....thank you for looking and the comments......Mrs Rupert says I went to the dogs years ago. I don't argue with her, it's pointless.
Best Regards!

Rupert, I did not realize how big they were until I was up close. Looka like we may "winter" this year in "Drippin" as they say. Maybe you can stop by and we will pop open a Lonestar, sit a spell and go for BBQ at the Salt Lick . Bob

Bob, Rupert, et al - I have been considering getting the 645 A or FA 120 macro for my k20d (and maybe K5) for strictly macro work. Rupert, I'm curious if you have to stop this down more than a 100mm made for the smaller format camera? Seems I could save a bundle by finding this lens on ebay, or such (an A went for $200 recently) rather than the more expensive 100mm. Thanks
