Headed out to Lakside for the first time since it re-opened early this year. My first attempts at panning... it's much harder than it looks C&C welcome as always. Mostly shot with the Sigma 70-200.

Looks to me like you did a great job of panning. I've never been able to do this successfully, but you sure know how.

Great series of car shots. The red Mustang (with the steering wheel on the wrong side) is beautiful.

Thanks, I think using a monopod made things much easier, saying that my keeper rate was pretty average

... and the steering wheel is on the right side when your in a backwards country

A gallant effort at the panning.
Love the B&W Toranas capture - those front axles appear almost snapping in half!
I see my car appears in the last shot.

Thanks Ash, the guys in the Toranas were sure putting on a show, lap after lap sideways through the fastest part of the track... and those walls are very close

Hi there Nobbsie,
Yep, i agree, the torana xu1 shot captured the moment and b/w is perfect.

But if you wanna scare yourself then try racing lakeside on a superbike ! that was scary shite coming into the bustop at 120-140 sliding while looking at the rockwall on the left, getting closer and closer and..
but fun too.

Glad to hear its open again. So much more interesting than ipswich.

Great shots , you took me straight back there.

Cheers Neil

Indeed the shtos where you were panning look good. The cars are in focus and the background blurred giving a sense of speed. I would say this was a success.

Thanks mate, I can only imagine how scary it would be on a bike, but it would be a blast. It's great being able to get close to the action, Ipswich is just so tame in comparison.
