That brings back found memories of growing up in Nebraska.

Thank you.

I got Oklahoma memories flooding back... the interesting thing is I was back in OK a summer ago and did not really see any fireflies to speak of. They were thick back when I was younger...

Nice shots and thanks for the memories.

Wow, those are great! I've never seen firefly shots work like that. You must have a bumper crop!

Thanks for the wonderful comments! Never in my life had I seen them as thick as I had that night. I wasnt' sure I'd be able to capture them, but I think these were 30s exposures at a large aperture...maybe f2 or 2.8. I'm told the cool, we summer lead to a thriving "little critter" population here in Ontario. I had to shoot down at the water to give some context to the shot...honestly they were even more plentiful in the woods, but exposures were just dots on a black background

Same here in New Brunswick - lots and lots of fireflies. Never occurred to me to try to photograph them - mind you, they were in our pasture (no context like you had with the lake) and there were enough yard lights around that it probably wouldn't have been dark enough. But I'm going to be watching for opportunities in the future - very magical effect!
