Couple of photos from meetup
Posted By: MattC, 10-02-2009, 03:01 AM

Managed to take a couple of shots on a dreary and wet day last weekend at the local South Aussie Pentax meetup - thank goodness our cameras are weather sealed!

Both shots taken with a Vivitar 105mm macro.

Cheers.

Very nice. The bokeh looks like frosted glass...very smooth.

Indeed the bokeh really adds to these shots.

Matt, #1 is my pick of the 2, love the background colour which makes the buds pop.

Sorry I could not make the meet. Next time love to compare the Viv 105.

Great shots Matt! Particularly #1. Brilliant DOF and sharpness! That Vivitar 105 of yours is a beauty!

And yes - it was a pretty damp day (so much for spring!), but we still managed a few reasonable shots, and a beer afterwards at that pub. I think we can count ourselves fortunate our cameras are weatherproof and the pub being close by!

And wasn't that rhododenron valley stunning with the water flowing and dripping about?

See you at the next shoot.....

Cheers

I'm also lovin' shot 1. So glistening and crisp, makes it look like porcelain or a glass ornament.

Gorgeous in every way.
From razor sharp to the smoothest of bokehs, these show the brilliance of that set of glassware you used to create them.
Well done eith the captures.

Thanks for the feedback guys

Kev - it would be good to swap notes on this lens for sure!
Chris - Cheers mate - and the beer afterwards made it all worth while
K-9 - cheers - hadn't though of it like that, but I can certainly see it now.

Paying attention to your background pays. These are excellent images and compsoitions. The rain and soft light does make the colours pop.
