Posted By: daacon, 05-26-2007, 07:27 AM

A little History / Background for those interested: The Great Divide Waterfall

One highlight of that article is : For a two hour waterfall showing the water measures approximately 4,600 cubic meters. The cost for operating the waterfall is approximately $2,000 per hour. Who said Water was free !!

And from what I understand if they built it along the full length of the bridge it would overload the poor old High Level Bridge

Seriously folks, if you ever have a chance to se this waterfall on it's worth it, it's beautiful

I wonder what a laser light show would be like on it.

Nice series Daacon. When were those taken? If it was this year then I'll be disappointed that I missed the first one of the year.

As Stu said, if you ever get the chance, it's worth seeing. It is silly, pointless, and yet totally spectacular! After almost 20 years, it still holds interest for me.

It even looks cool at night -a laser show would be 'da bomb' I didn't have a tripod with me (rookie!) so I left before sunset (which now is approaching 10:00 pm!) - I won't be around 1st of July (I will be in your next of the woods Stu!) the fireworks and lights are pretty neat as well.

Wow!

I had no idea there was such a thing in Edmonton.

Are you allowed to boat near/under it, a la the Maid of the Mist at Niagara???

The river (North Saskatewan) is pretty shallow in parts not allot of boats but I do see the odd one (Jet Boats are huge, and rowers , kayaks ,canoes) Duirng the Sour Dough Raft Race I think they have the falls turned on and they Raft under it .

They don't turn the falls on very oftern - you would think out here in "Oil Country" where the economy is booming they would ...
