Went to the annual Vandalia gathering in Charleston, West Virginia today. I shot with the 50mm M F2 the whole time. It was a good length for walking around.

It was right under the capitol building- Yes, that's real gold inlay.



Among the many craft displays were pockets of people practicing for their performances and contests (very intense faces):





There were lots of people.






We didn't stay long enough to get close to the performers on stage, but we heard a lot of bluegrass and folk music. There were also all kinds of crafts and foods to buy. We resisted the home made BBQs and salsa. Great community event.

Community events like that sorta put a lot of the good things about a society into perspective.
Well captured to, the intensity of the performers certainly comes through.

Really nice series of images. I enjoyed the mini tour. The color saturation and sharpness are really enjoyable. I am a little stumped on the second image though. Is that flare in the tree trunk?

It's smoke from a nearby booth. The man behind the guitar player is wearing a blacksmith apron, you can barely see it.
