My wife had a very short day at work, this morning, and (as I drive her to and from work, each day) I opted to wait nearby until she was ready to leave the job. I wound up at the Naval park, and shot a few pictures with my K10D & Tamron 18-200. I didn't seem to do too well, and these two photos were the best of the bunch. These are just simple shots, but it kind'a got to me. I mean, knowing the service that these mighty ships once rendered, and now seeing the condition that they (especially the sub) rest in, I couldn't help but to walk away feeling a little sad. They sure were mighty...weren't they?

I would guess the cost factor in the upkeep has a lot to do with the disrepair of the mighty ships. With no crew It's hard to keep them in the ready they once were. However I like the shots and I think you did very well. Thanks for the reminder.

I was just reading up on the USS Croaker. She is a fine vessel that served her country well in desperate times.
