wide angle and kids
Posted By: uccemebug, 10-04-2009, 10:15 PM

Anyone else find that wide angle lenses are best for photographing kids?

Zenitar 16mm

21mm Limited

There's something about their small size, oversized features, and flailing limbs that seems to work with wide angle. And of course, they don't sit still for a tele.

Not bad.
Each have their preferences with the little bundles of energy.
I'm more of a fan of the fast fifty - can get a reasonably close shot with fast shutter speed quite easily. I've also been fortunate with a number of 200+ mm shots, which when the pose is right are just timeless...

I LOVE wide angle for people. I found tele portraits boring.

Babies' heads are big enough already without a WA lens adding to the size!

Yeah, and he seems to be behaving himself. My son had gotten into the cortisone cream and was trying to apply it to the infected insect bites on his leg, just like his mum had done that morning. Here's another wide angle pic, this time taken with my Minolta film gear.

20mm on "full frame" (but cropped)
