Playing Hide & Seek with a grasshopper
Posted By: mikerigel, 05-27-2007, 05:50 AM

He kept running away from me for a while, but then he stopped right under this piece of wood. As I was slowly getting closer, he kept moving his head out to check if I was still there...
Then he stopped moving, as if he thought he was safe enough, and that's how I got the shot below.

1/60s f/16.0 iso200

K10 with Vivitar 105mm.

C&C welcome.

Ollie Ollie Oxen Free!

Hi Mike!

Great shot to reward your persistence in following him around! Except for the antennae, it looks like a face staring back at you.

Ok, that is officially cool!
It reminds me of the movie "A Bug's Life" That could easily be a picture of the villian grasshopper in that movie.
Well done!

What Salty said!! Great use of that lens, I want one of those but I don't think I could get such a cool pic with it as you have.

Love it Mike.
I think that an animator could have a lot of fun using that photo as a template for a new character
Gary the Grasshopper has a nice ring to it.
