Few fun shots with Steph
Posted By: vroom_skies, 10-05-2009, 05:31 PM

So today I went down to the point to shoot some scenes and my friend happened to be there. So it turned into a mini portrait session, which is something I have basically zero experience with

I think we got a few keepers during the fun.

There are more if you guys want them, I'd just have to quickly edit them.
Thanks
Bob

Well done.
#2 is stunning and #3 is fun.
What's with the ?bags on her feet? Was she worried abut her shoes?

Doesn't look like zero portrait experience! Very good photos of a beautiful girl. Much fun in them.

Thanks Ash. Yeah she was wearing new shoes and we were taking photos in a marsh (more or less). After a little while the bags started leaking, so I gave her my sandals and I went bare foot. That was some cold water.

Thanks Causey, means a lot. I barely ever shoot people, so it was nice to be able to practice.

And no doubt she was worth it!
Well done mate.

They are good shots. I take it you used some fill-in? The skin colours are excellent and the ambiance is very nice expressing a naturalness.

Really nice shots, but then again you have really good equipment.
Just kidding they are really nice.

I'd keep her too.

Thanks JMR. I didn't go planning on shooting people so I didn't bring my flash, so all of these ended up being natural lighting. It was perfect lighting that evening. Wish all days were like that.

Haha, thanks Graphic. I do love my equipment, but it's not too cutting edge anymore
The first shot was even taking with the kit 18-55 Mk1

OK then it's all just the hot model. It's not you or the equipment.

BTW the other shots are nice too/ But it's all Steph.

Very nice shots; she models well for the camera and looks very comfortable in front of the lens.

Her eyes don't look razor sharp in any of the shots. It looks like her sweater and body is sharper, so maybe your AF wasn't catching the face/eyes? Was she moving too much combined with slower shutter? The only sharp face shot of them all is the one you added later, where she is looking down and you can't see her eyes. The other late edition is very soft on her eyes.

You sir would be quite correct. The original photos are a good deal sharper, however I did miss the eye in a few of them. As you mention, the one where she is looking down is the sharpest eye wise lol. What a surprise

Thanks everyone
