I like it - reminds me of scenes from a 1950's Si-Fi flick - excuse my ignorance is that a filter ? PP ? or both whatever it is you have done it well.

Lovely! simply lovely. Great shots, and another technique I'd like to practice.

Those are neat Cideway...take a look at the following link. This guy took out the IR cut filter on his *ist DS and got shutter speed way faster than usual.

xdeltax.com tutorials

I do love IR.

(PS - I followed his steps up to #9 in order to clean my very dirty DS. No problems following the directions or getting it back together.)

Yeah, i'm not that game, i have been thinking of doing it though, but i might wait till my K10D gets replaced, since my DS is still my backup body.

Yup - I figure some day you'll be able to grab a DS for $100 - then why not?!?

That guy's pic's are amazing

I might be looking for a used Pentax DSLR soon, although I think that I'll send it in for Pentax to work on.

LeoTaylor did a similar mod to a K110 for Astrophotgraphy here
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-dslr-discussion/7538-modifying-pen...hotgraphy.html
Although he ended up getting Pentax to finish the procedure for him.

I like the feel from the shots, especially the palm tree leaves - so soft like cotton wool.

These are excellent IR photos! I really like the palm trees, but all of them are nice photos.

Do you mind if I pick your brain for a minute? (I promise it won't hurt - lol)

I also have a K10D and a Hoya R72 filter. While the R72 worked great on my Canon Powershot, I'm having a hard time getting the IR photos to turn out as well as I like so far. What camera settings are you using for most of your IR shots? And more important, where exactly do you set your white balance?

I've been shooting at ISO 100, around F4.5, for about 10 seconds. I use a custom white balance. I've tried setting it manually by shooting a white sheet of paper, or by the greens of the grass, even a few custom settings. While all of these seem ok, they;re not as good as I was getting with the Canon. I'd rather be shooting 10mp IR shots than 3.2mp shots.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
