Pano: Sunrise over Mono Lake...
Posted By: heliphoto, 10-06-2009, 08:49 PM

Ok, I spent a lot of today working with Hugin to get a good clean stitch of this panorama of Mono Lake (see this earlier series for more from this location...)

18 shots, all control points hand picked in Hugin (tedious, but gave me the results I wanted...) The full file is 33,224 x 2,890 pixels for a 366 MB TIFF. I don't have one that big online - just 10,350 x 900 (click the photo below to see the 10,350 x 900 version)...

The colours and clarity do come out nicely in the full version.
Well done with this pano - a tough job!

I love panos' and this one is great. A little dark on the extreme right hand side. Open the large version it is well worth a look.

Thanks Dave - It's not perfect, but I'm getting better at these (especially the stitching process).

Thanks Dave - being before sunrise, the mountains on the right really were that dark (the exposure settings were constant throughout that series of shots, and those were actually the last shots of the series since I started from the left). I imagine it might be best to crop a bit of that dark right side off for balance...
