Nature Birding with the 55-300

I'm no birder, but I couldn't resist capturing this Aussie bird (it's a Kookaburra, in case anyone's wondering) posing for me on a statue's head at a local park.

The DA 55-300's done a good job with it too - at 100% there's decent sharpness.

Last one I found wouldn't come down from the tree :P

Yeah mate.
They're cunning characters - I had to sneak up on this one before he realised I was getting a little too close and flew back to the comfort of a palm treetop.
