First attempt at Stage Photography - Stage Musical Content
Posted By: -spam-, 05-28-2007, 06:22 PM

I went along to my old schools musical for the second night in a row and this time took a camera with me. I was using the k100d and either our sigma 28-80 f3.5-5.6 macro or my chinon 50mm f1.7.

Most of the shots were either taken at iso 1600 or 3200 (some at 800). Would have been nice to get closer but i got as close as possible without annoying other audience members.

And there is a heap more HERE

They've come out great. I'm also pleasantly surprised at the performance (of the camera, that is...). Thanks for sharing - will have to try that myself one day...

It was great fun to shoot. I had seen the show the night before as well, so i knew when the lighting changes were and also when to look out for interesting bits.
Kind of thanks to these photos, ive secured myself a promo shoot for another play that the school is doing as well

These are super - I especially like the third one, but all look good. Mixing photography with live stage action - which you've done so well - is always enjoyable.

Thanks everyone.

I sent my drama teacher from last year (the director of the musical) a link to all the photos and she loves them. She wants to buy some of them too and they want me back to do the promo stuff for the next play they are doing.
