Just some info some of these shots (the slightly outta focus ones) shot at f1.7 on an old manual 50mm Ricoh, really hard to get focus right though.

Nice start! One thing a lot of beginners in model photography don't realize is how important make-up and post-processing is (right after lighting). As you improve on your lighting, try to improve on those in parallel.

Your gf (right?) is beautiful!

Not bad - indeed Andi has mentioned things I thought at first glance of your results.
Lighting, makeup and appropriate PP work all would improve these portraits drastically.

She has the look and a comfortable pose which you can work on!

Aside from a few shots that are noticably out of focus I definitely think you're on the right track.

Good work!

The out of focus ones were shot on a manual lense at f1.7, given that it was a bit dark it made getting focus spot on a real bitch!!

Definately agree, one thing I don't really understand fully yet is lighting.

I was doing this in my appartment with purely just my 540gz flash & lambency sphere and trying different things.

I accidently shot the first bunch of photos in JPEG without realising !!!!

I should say this girl has actually done pro work in the past including been in a L'oreal ad in a magazine.

One thing I really enjoy photographing women

keep shooting taking note of exposure flash settings, distance/angle from subject.

And .......

One more photo I thought i'd add.

These were all shot in the confines of my appartment, was hoping to do some outside but with the rain and wind, well no chance sunshine.

Too many shots on an angle. Scrolling thru too fast makes you dizzy. Gets boring. IMEO

Other than that like has been said learn makeup and lighting to flatter. And be careful of limb angles.
