Congrats on the accepted.

I can see why they rejected the other. The light on her leg looks odd to me. Like the photo was scratched instead of the look you were going for.

The clean look of #2 makes it stunning and attractive.
#1's not bad at all - might just be taste...

Had the first one shown her from head to toe, it may have got in. This is just a guess, but if I were judging it, I would have ruled it out due to the crop just under the calf. It's never the best spot for a cropped portrait. It could also be the PP as you mentioned. Maybe the judges aren't into Vallejo!
