Lunchtime nature/macro with the DA55-300
Posted By: goddo31, 10-14-2009, 08:29 AM

Went out at lunchtime again today with the trusty 55-300.
Was hoping to find some birds, but they were elusive so I had a go at some bees...

Unfortunately most of these are cropped a fair bit, but the detailed still seems to be retained ok...

And some fun...

C&C welcome of course.

For some reason I like the black and white the most, but I can't put my finger on why. They all held good detail and are nice to look at.

Some very nice images and yes that is a very versatile lens. Cropping makes no difference as long as you don't go past the 100%.

These are good, sharp images from this lens.
The last two are brilliant, and #4 is particularly appealing with its rich texture and detail.
Well done.

Thanks for the comments, all

I like the B&W too, although initially I was a little surprised as to why.
I don't normally do B&W conversions but I'm happy with how it came out.

Heinrich - Thanks, I really respect your images, so I appreciate the comment. Whilst the crops on the first three are quite heavy, I tried to keep away from the 100% as much as possible.

Ash - cheers.
