Spring Down Under.
Posted By: Bramela, 10-14-2009, 04:26 PM

Spring has really brought everything alive down in Australia.
I caught these couple in my garden this morning :

I used my k20d but didnt have a macro len on at the time, used DA*50-135, so rather harsh cropping. Should have had the Viv 105mm on

Wow...... picture #1 is? It looks like a cross between a monarch butterfly and a humming bird. like them both.

Very sharp details and bright colours as expected from the fine lens.
Well done with these captures.
Spring is finally here!

Very nice but you are over sharpening, tone it down a notch

Thanks for the tip Alfisti, will take your advice. I take the pictures and I have fair idea of what I am doing, then get on the computer and I am a complete novice. Anyway, never too old to learn.

Slightly different versions. I haven't cropped quite as much and backed off on the sharpening.
It was a little breezy at the time, so not the ideal for close up shots such as these.

I am not that thrilled with them but maybe in stiller conditions, next time
and a macro lens..

Nice pics Bruce.
I feel like I have been waiting for Spring all year...

The first 2 are great, although maybe tone the sharpening down just a tad as already mentioned. Saying that, I'm probably at the same level as you for PP

Thanks for that Jason. I dont think I have enough years left to master it all, then again, maybe if I live to 110
