Winter Raiment
Posted By: Sailor, 10-19-2009, 05:05 PM

Today, Connie and I completed our annual autumn evolution in which we re-install the boat's dodger (windshield), which makes winter sailing more comfortable by deflecting chilly winter spray and wind.

The dodger is the most contrary and perverse item aboard our boat; successful installation leaves one ready to box his grandma and kick somebody's dog. So . . . in celebration of its completion (for this year) . . . . I offer documentary evidence for what I regard as a - painful - achievement.

Well done Jer.
I hope it serves you well in your cruises at sea.
Nice shots of the vessel.

This Kenny Chesney song just came to mind:
20 years of a landlocked job was all that he could take
sitting at his desk all alone and depressed
says this just cant be my fate
went home that night and told his wife
you can tell all of your friends
it's been real but it ain't been fun
gonna get us one of them

.

It is - indeed - a PITA. Thanks for the nice words on the second shot. Lately, it seems I've just been recording stuff; I've got to get back to "real" photography.

Thanks much, Ash. The song's words are appropriate - although I don't see a line about writing checks .

Fewer would go for one if they knew too soon how much their dream boat costs...

Hi Jer it looks like a pain in the butt, on a really nice boat. With the really good comes the not so good, the two go hand in hand, just remember how miserable it has been at times with out it.

Good sailing and may the wind always be at your back.

Thanks, JIM. I will say that working on the boat is never as bad as just working.
