A wonderful shot, in my view - although I see her as thoughtful (with a sense of irony) rather than sad.

It was shot durring a marriage and it's my ex... so trust me, she was sad...

A wonderful shot. Looks more like an outdoor portal or something. The light and pose is excellent .

Brilliant portrait. The light and the shadows work perfect. I agree with Sailor, there is something ironic in the expression, resignation i would say. But this ambigous expression adds magic to the shot. Like Leonardo´s Monna Lisa.

I really like this kind of lighting. I too don't think she looks sad, the comparison with Mona Lisa's smile is dead on. I would crop it vertically to remove the (mostly) black sides, however.
