Monkeys and other animals from Thailand (15)
Posted By: thomasjmpark, 10-21-2009, 12:48 AM

Hi,

I have been away for a while and recently got back from 3 weeks in Thailand. Great holiday and a bit of a culture shock for me but I really enjoyed it. Unfortunatley we didnt see many wild animals but did see alot of wild monkeys living in a town called Lopburi, probably the most bonkers place I have ever been!

The rest are from Chiangmai zoo which we were a bit dubious of going into but the animals all seemed happy enough and had pretty good living conditions.

I have many more but dont want to bore people with holiday pictures!! By the way these were all taken with the 50-135mm which still remains my fav lens even though its not the best walk around lens, just want 16-50 and a K7 to attach it too

Lopburi monkeys...

These are from the zoo..

Good to see you back Tom!

Great shots in all. I enjoyed the series.

And I thought squirrels were pesty city creatures; imagine a herd of free-roaming monkeys!

Nice series.
I too would have been a bit wary of going in to a zoo there, but glad to know they were in good conditions.

Did the monkeys in the street steal any of your food?
There are some around Japan, but I haven't seen them yet...

Let me just add my compliments for the monkey pics: Those are great, especially the little guy with the pipe, the monkey on its side, and the monkeys with the ruins/sculptures.

Thankyou everyone I was chuckling for a long while after we left Lopburi, crazy place and crazy monkeys and im glad I caught a little of that. They didnt steal any food from me but they did from other people that were silly enough to be holding some!

Jeff, thanks, its been a while and its nice to be back on the site. Things have changed a bit, it looks good and continues to grow. Just need to start entering some competitions again....
