few from streets
Posted By: axl, 10-28-2009, 02:41 PM

These shots are from two different outings. On first I was trying waist shooting with 10-20, but there is a lot to learn and the the second I was out with my F50/1.7 and as I was waiting for the bus I snapped some shots.

Any comments and criticism appreciated.

Bit of a story telling collection.Very effective having them in B&W.The only thing I had noticed, was the man walking the dog, looked like he was ready to skitch the dog onto you.He doesn,t look to happy!!

Nice Peter.
I like the 50mm captures better just by virtue of its lack of distortion on the subjects.
You're bold to be doing such street portraiture with the 10-20!

Some very good street shots, but I feel too many of them are shot angled, and would have benefited from a straighter frame.

I LIKE THESE SHOTS, (oops caps)
did you shoot from the waist, they seem to have a low down perspective

thank you guys,
appreciate your comments. First 4 shots are from waist level, with camera hanging sideways (portrait orientation) on the strap on my shoulder and fired via wire. It's kind of hard to get the framing for me still, and straightening would chop off some parts of people. That's for the tilts
The guy walking the dog was in conversation with another person who I cropped off, since I missed the framing.
The last to are with F50 in my hand, but holding it down "as if I was just carrying it". It took me 7 shots to get these 2 and the last is still not what I wanted, but then my bus came. I find it hard with narrower lenses not to miss my subject .
Anyway, thanks, and I'm glad you like the B&W conversion too.
