The colour draws you in.
The sunlit areas are only slightly distracting, and the central framing of the subject not the most appealing, but otherwise this works.

Thanks, Ash.

This one is in light of Remembrance Sunday, which is tomorrow in London, at the Cenotaph.
This is where we remember all those that fought and died in WW2.

Red is the colour.

dcm', I love to hear stories from the veterans of WWII, I am always interested.
My grandmother (who died some twenty years ago), her brother died at the battle of the Somme in WWI. My grandfather was in the Merchant Navy during WWII, he survived.

My great uncle was at the battle of Monte Cassino, he survived. Another uncle of mine was fightin' the war in Burma, but got sent home with major injuries, shrapnel from a bomb blast I think it was.

The men who fought in that war were a different breed.

Nice image Pauly, the lines of the shadow draw me to the subject really well. The red is really quite something.

Good on 'ya for doing something in remembrance, this might inspire me...

My late grandfather fought and survived WWII. He served mainly in New Guinea (ie. PNG), and I believe he may have been at Kokoda. Need to confirm that..

Also had another family member in the WWI generation of ANZACs.
Unfortunately he didn't make it home; I think he may have been killed in France.
