Back to my old Bridge
Posted By: Jimbo, 11-07-2009, 07:20 PM

I started shooting this bridge almost a year ago and have posted some shots here in the past. It rained hard all day until about 4:00 PM when the sun broke out. Went down to this bridge to see if I could catch the sun setting. Here are a couple. JIM

really like #2... tough lighting conditions, but very well captured... the expanse of this shot is impressive...was this the 12 or 16?

This was the 12-24. Thanks for commenting. There are things I like about both. Cheers JIM

Well done Jim. #2 is indeed surreal, particularly the colouring and subdued lighting. The bridge's form makes an appealing foreground to the image.

Thanks Ash. Filter change up on #2. CPL / ND 4. Also a slight adjustments in curves and bumped up the contrast. The first image I used a 4 and 2 ND with no CPL. JIM

Wonderful pics of the bridge Jim, but I have to agree that #2 is the better of the 2. It's better balanced and I love the coloring. Well done!

Beautiful colors and mood in the fall stream shot.

Mike

Thanks Mike. I have taken that stream shot a few times throughout the year. One more to go and I will have all four seasons and I will post here. Cheers JIM

Thanks Taff. Process is about the same. The difference is filter selection. On the first I used two ND filter combined [2 and 4]. On the second I added a CPL filter and turned the sharpeness to the water to bring out more color in the water. THe saturation on the second one is pumped up a bit more too. They were also shot about 5-7 minutes apart I believe and that too changed the coloring. [Second one shot later then the first] Hope that helps but I am still learning. Maybe a little more foreground interest next time. JIM

I'm with Heinrich - number 1 is outstanding, but I like 'em both.

Thanks Jer. Funny, I posted at another site and everyone liked the first one and here the second was the clear winner. JIM
