Don't want to really give it away, so I submitted in 'other.'

Looks like a smooth backlit mud/rock conglomerate.
Well spotted, well captured JMR.
You have a great eye for abstract detail.

Neat - you see the extrodinary in the ordinary all the time. Well done.

I would have never guessed. I thought it was a landscape shot with geological interest.

Great shot, the blue lines add an interesting element. Nice lighting too, got to love the magic hours!

Thanks guys. It is indeed a kind of geologic site. Hills and furrows created by deforestation leaving the clay surface exposed. Some other minerals which do appear a tocuh blue but are actually green and white. Mike, its nickname is in fact "Elephant back." NOw the stuff on the right, that is real elephant hair

Thanks. It was shot in low light, but the clay somehow emanates a soft glow.

Hi JMR, so you went to Cheltenham again. I am envious of how close you are to it but guess what, I'll be in Burlington for a few days come Sunday and if at all possible I'll take a drive up. Oh yes, I do like that image and thanks for posting it.

Many thanks Heinrich. I thought this thread was dead! I know you will come up something interesting when there. Don't go if it is raining, it turns into a huge mud bowl. Good Luck.
