Sample shots with SMC 135-600mm
Posted By: mole, 11-17-2009, 12:43 PM

Purchased a used SMC 135-600 F6.7 about a month ago, and noticed that there are no reviews of this lens in the Forum database. So here are a few sample photos, and I will post my review of the lens soon. Hope you enjoy these, and glad for any comments/constructive criticism.

For you guys drooling over this lens, there's one in an auction at Property Room.com, a site where police forces auction off merchandise. Here's a link:

Enjoy!

Looks like a great find for you.....you gotta know I love the Squirrels too! The first Squirrel.....Otis asks what he is eating? Otis is always interested in exotic food.

That's a big long lens, just the kind that makes Squirrels feel important...you should shoot more Squirrels, they will certainly pose for a lens like that!

Best Regards...Post more when you can!

Mel - Thanks for your kind words - you have some great bird, etc. shots posted here!

Here are two photos of the lens, as you requested:

How did you do the second shot, it really does look like the tripod wants to tip forward. you need to consider an extended release plate to get the CofG over the tripod.

It is a shame you don't live anywhere near me, as I have just picked up a tamron 200-500F5.6 and I would love to do a shoot out between these two.

Maybe we still can, if we agree on some rules, sparrows at 20 feet, herons at 50 feet something like that

The pics are amazing! Found one for sale here SMC Pentax Zoom Lens 135-600 mm f/6.7 | eBay and came across this thread. Looks like another one of those "oldie" exotics that excite our imaginations...
The tripod shot reminded me of Jack Sparrow's telescope
