Pentax & Natural Habitat Adventures - Polar Bear Photo Tour
Posted By: Piotr, 11-21-2009, 03:21 PM

Hi,
I've just returned from Pentax & Natural Habitat Adventures - Polar Bear Photo Tour.

It was standard Natural Habitat Classic Polar Bear Photo Adventure but with two Pentax photographers: Kerrick James http://www.kerrickjames.com and Julie Quarry.

To say a true I was only one Pentax user in group of 16 people

Kerrik and Julie did good job helping other people and promoting Pentax gears - K-7, K-x and some lenses.

Trip was well organized - the only problem was weather. For 24 hours in tundra we had only 1,5 hour of sun

I took with me my standard kit: K20D, (K200D as backup), Pentax 12-24, tamron 28-75/2.8 and Sigma 100-300/4 with TC1.4 and TC2. In addition I took FA77Ltd.

DA12-24 was used very rarely as TC2. Mainly I used Sigma 100-300 with or without TC1.4.
I borrowed K-7 and DA*300 for half of day but disn't used it intensively.

Excellent series. I also really like the dog who has a benign but almost child-like quality in his look. Very inquisitive. It is also interesting how the bears appear to be very accustomed to your presence, not once appearing to be looking at your lens. Lucky for you!

These are marvelous shots, fascinating creatures to behold.

That is one of my dream trips, did you drive out in dune buggies ?
And do you have link to the company you travelled with ?

Perfectly exposed images, did you dial in EV difference ?
