crab spider in the rain

Came across this little bloke yesterday.
Taken with 105mm Vivitar and K20

I can't tell at this size if the eye's are in focus, so you've been given the benefit of the doubt

How do you get such soft light?

The flash was diffused by using a cheap ebay difusser that just fixes to the flash head - something similar to this.
I have only been using ot for a short while, but it seems to work o.k.

Well lit and captured Matt.
I see yeatzee's point.
Looks to me slightly backfocused, or focused on the roots of the legs rather than the eyes.
But well done on such an interesting shot.
