Melbourne Friday night Meetup
Posted By: knumbnutz, 11-21-2009, 10:53 PM

Hi Everyone,

I guess if you saw the weather Friday you could have been mistaken for thinking that no one would turn up for a walk around the city.

Well, we had 6 photographers turn up and a wife so in all, not too bad, although some were late, no names mentioned…..me!

We all met at least one new face and caught up with a few old ones as well, and I can say that everyone had a good time.

For those that came along, Please Post one photo in these threads or send me a photo if you don’t have a login for that forum.

Cheers Neil

I tried my 55mm Super Tak for the first time in the city and, as expected, it was a little too long. I have a few if that's okay Neil. It was a good night and hope to see more folk on the next meetup.

Hi All,

From another that came along, Inghard.

Great to meet with you and a very decent chap indeed, who lent me his 31mm for a few shots !

What an excellent way to meet and develop one's photography, and ultimately share your work. I used to beleong to a camera club, so, good bad or indifferent, you get a chance to enjoy what you are doing and that is important. Cheers.

Good stuff Neil. A good idea. Nice 'best' image of the night too.
Lots of colour and 'controlled' clutter.
Well done.

Niel, thank you for organizing this. It was great to meet so many new Pentaxians.

I'm afraid some of my better shots might have turned out a little creepy

Wow, everyone - great group of shots. Looks like a great place to have a beer, as well.

Voe, making walls with artwork on them look great is not an easy task but you did well. The high contrast is right up my alley.. dark alley that is

This was my shot of that same alley.

Thanks everyone for the comments and thanks again to those that came along.

EVERY city should do this at least once, gather up your pentaxians and get a group together, have a beer and share your passion of photography.

Cheers Neil

Carl, I think I like your shot better than mine. I was too lazy to use a tripod, so I had to use my 50mm f/1.2 instead of the 21mm f/3.5 which I also brought that night.
