My little niece, concentrating on the chess play yesterday.

C&C more than welcome, this is not the thing I am good at, so I want to learn!!

EDIT: lighter ones...

Thank you both!
The light source was just late afternoon light through the windows. I will post an update later this evening or tomorrow!

Hey Rense, if they were to create a moody portrait, particularly #1 would work with added brightness/exposure and contrast and burning any background that tries to come up in details.

Rense, i really like the mood/feel of these.

its nice to see portraits without the super studiolight evry now and then.
Im actually just finnish with a litle "project" much like this, diving into low-light.

keep up the very nice work!

I like the mood and the look. Nonetheless, it does look too dark on one side and on the first image. I would only add some kind of fill-in. Just holding a white board or something, because I really like natural light people photos.

Good sentiment on the first shot in deed.

Nice images Rense, they should lighten up nicely.
I would suggest cropping some off the top of the second one to get the focus more on her eyes, that will really make it shine, excellent pose you captured, very natural.

I like these images, Rense. I'm rather fond of their dark cast.

Thank you all!
It's clear, some of you want lighter photos, so I redid them and placed them in the original post.

Strange...yesterday my first thought was too dark, but now I am not sure I like this lighter ones better. The mood is somehow changed; the light is not so soft anymore and you get some shiny spots on her face (second picture).
