I like it your dog has that wtf are you doing look . Nice DOF , I think it would have looked a little better closer in but it is a great shot.

it looks like a very difficult dog to shoot, with the dark head and eyes. You did very well, and I really like the stick and attentive look. You certainly have to be happy with it, you don't usually get pictures that good of people, and they understand what it is you want them to do for a pose. Is it a Border Collie?

G'day Goose,
Great shot. Great dog the border collie, they are sponges when it comes to learning things, they soak it all up. Thats why they made such good sheep dogs over here, they were amazing.
The look on the dog says to me he/she is thinking "how the hell am I going to catch that thing (camera) if he throws it??"

Thanks for the compliments. Yes he is a border collie - and yes he is very difficult to shoot. I have plenty of photos of him and you're right - his black face really makes things tricky. I always thought his black and white coat would be a great contrast for shots - and it is, but to get expressions of his face have been tough. That said I do really like this shot.

And yes, he's a very intelligent dog. Sometimes too intelligent for his own good.
