The scope has an 8" diameter mirror at f6 giving it a 48inch focal length, which is 1219mm. So the magnification of the scope calculates as: 35mm (eyepiece) divided by 1219mm (main obj) = 34.8 power.
Pretty low magnification really. But I zoomed the 18-55 Pentax lens to frame the moon, so that more than doubled the magnification (prob about 2.5) to result somewhere around 88 X.
I had the ISO set at 800 so I could hand-hold. The camera was set on manual exposure because auto exposure always overexposes Moon shots.
